Update on day 56

It’s been 5 days since my “stumble” and the outcome is surprising…

Stumbled on day 51, but I’m better-off for it

I made a choice to have some beer last night, Wednesday, my 51st day of getting my drinking under control.  But, I don’t feel like a failure… quite the opposite!

Day 50 and still sober

Today is my 50th day without drinking.  A huge change from getting plowed every night, I must say!  But, it’s not entirely effortless…

Day 38: My First Non-Drinking Outing After Work

Today is the 38th day since I’ve had a drink, and tonight was the first outing I’ve had with the guys from work.  I wasn’t sure how I’d handle the decision, as everyone would be drinking and I wasn’t sure if I’d choose to have one or two, or skip completely.

Day 31 of the 30 day sobriety journey

Yep, that’s right… It’s one full day past the end of the 30 day program and the longest I’ve gone without drinking any booze in over 15 years probably!

Day 23 of the 30 day sobriety journey

Still on schedule, just past three weeks without drinking.  The urge to hit the liquor store on the way home after work is easily avoided at this time, and even the booze in my pantry can be looked-at and I don’t feel the need to pour a quad-shot like I used to.

Day 10 of the 30 day sobriety journey

It’s day 10 of my journey to curb my drinking — 1/3 of the way through the month and program.  It actually doesn’t seem like it’s been that long nor has it been especially painful to go without drinking, other than simply saying “no” when the temptation strikes.

Day 8 of the 30 day sobriety journey

One full week.  It sounds so small… so insignificant, but that means I’ve driven by the liquor store right around the corner from my house at least seven times and not once have I stopped-in to buy my beloved Pit Bull malt liquor, nor have I hit the scotch, bourbon, rum, or gin in my pantry.
